hey i tink after what happened today, me and hui hui wld like to say sorry to monster. although it's a shared responsibility, we are the overall ics and ultimately we shld be the ones ensuring that a high level of safety is observed at all times. we have failed obviously, which resulted in this terrible accident. sorry monster. get well soon kaes, honestly i think your skull is made of metal or some undiscovered monster element. i tink if it was anyone else who kana the pole, we wld have fainted on the spot. and i actaully saw the pole BOUNCE off your head. godlike. rest well monster.
sorry to the pt ics too, for taking up so many pt sessions for pioneering. today would be the last time, so we will have a proper pt next week okaes. so sorry.
i tink this accident is a clear indication of our complaceny towards safety. what may seem as very safe activity can actaully turn out to be disastrous. in all my years of pioneering, i thought such a project would be one of the safest since we are working with comfortable heights. furthurmore, we have already done this for at least 4 times. however this is obviously not true. so for the next pioneering session which would be after promos, please observe certain safety precautions.
1. step base no matter what. we didn't step base today, tat's why when the top pole slipped off, the bottom pole just sprang up cos of the weight and the whole thing just came crashing down. so no matter what, STEP BASE. esp the "7"s. they look harmless, but their weight is comparable to the base pole that crashed on monster's head today.
2. always be alert and communicate. look around your surroundings, be alert. esp when u are standing under a pioneering structure, pls be aware of what is above u and surrounding you. take note of loose poles or untied poles. communicate more often. tell others of potential dangers, like if u see the knot coming loose, tell those around you, alert one us so we can access it and do sth about it if needed.
3. proper footwear. i have noticed a lot alot of glass pieces and metal bars sticking out of nowhere under the treehouse. alot of us were wearing slippers for the last few sessions, i am guilty of that too, so for the next session please make sure u come in proper footwear. we don't want to have people cutting their foot, i almost got cut the other day when my toe rammed against some metal bar sticking out of nowhere. if u kana cut, there are many many many implications which may lead to amputation. haha just kidding.
having said all these, i have also noticed that some of us are just not interested in this whole project. i know it's super sian, i am super sian oso. this has been lyk our 4th time building the same thing over and over again. but just bear with it and try to help. we have been given an impossible task by sc, so let's just try and make the best out of it. get yourself involved in the whole project, dun sit at the treehouse and start having your little mini chit chat. i dun wan to scream and yell just to get people on the treehouse to help put the 7s up. take initiative. by now all of u shld know the standard procedure. so try and HELP. if u are really not interested, don't come at all. i rather have a small group of productive people who are interested than have a large group that i have problems controlling.
hui hui and i have spent many hours trying to design and plan this whole project. we are very tired and sian about it also. but when a task is given to us, we have to complete it with our best effort. we are also learning and experimenting, so i hope all of u can cooperative with us and work together. the faster we get things done, the faster we can go home.
let's take this accident today as a lesson learnt and dun ever let history repeat itself. safety first . jiayou :)
