I'm really sorry to have to start the new year on a bad note, but i seriously felt i had to do this...

They say 'familiarity breeds contempt'. I guess it's cos of our strong friendships we've forged as a batch last yr, seriously, we are really close fwenZ. But this is where the problem lies too, we become too familiar with one another, we take these strong ties between ourselves for granted, and this breeds bad blood. Maybe u can't feel it, but lemme tell u i can taste it.

Sometimes, we tease each other in the name of revelry, and i tell u there is nothing wrong with that. But i must also say that there is a fine line between teasing and insulting, and many of us are beginning to cross this line, including myself. U may think that something u said was funny and 'joking joking', but u never know if the other person is feeling insulted or not.

Take for instance yesterday during the dry run, when we were on a certain bus to changi. This grp of girls were heard saying "hey the guys on this bus are all very smart leh... er... but not dennis lar, dennis quite stupid". Haha, funny rite? Sorry, i don't think it was a wee bit funny, cos yer insulting my intelligence. I don't need u to praise me, to say that i'm smart or anything of that sort, but i don't need u to call me stupid either. Try living my life, a science student in an arts faculty, take my subject combi. Try going for national squad training 5 days a week, waking up every morning during schooling days at 6am, and coming back home every nite at ard 11 after training. Tutorials? On a good day i get to slp ard 12 plus 1, if not it'd be 3, on rare occasions 4. Try staying awake in school the nxt day then, for 5 consecutive days, before u get a chance to so called 'catch up' with yer slp over the weekend. And oh, don't forget ODAC...!!! Try, then, to maintain this lifestyle and get Bs, Cs, Ds, and an occassional A. Beat that, and u can call me stupid. If not, i'm sorry, but yer not fit enuff to say 'dennis is stupid'.

On the other hand, I've also realized my mistakes. I know i'm a very direct person and i often crack jokes which are in-your-face and might unintentionally offend u at times. I offer my sincerest apologies to those whom i have offended, seriously. Sorry monster and liwen, for teasing u guys. Sorry hui hui and yuan li, for calling u guys IQ maxes. Sorry jasmine, for saying that yer short. Sorry xiaoyun, for saying yer short and yer fingers and all...really sorry if i've unintentionally offended any of ya'll for saying that. Anyone else i've missed out, PLEASE don't be shy, just say it, I'll apologise in front of you.

And PLEASE, i have nothing to do with sara bay. This is the last time i'm saying it. We are just fellow ODACers. I felt i wasn't wrong in tearing out that page from the loggie, I just thought u guys went overboard.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not being a prig, I'm not saying that we must stop all jokes and fun and revelry, and just do business and behave well. I'm just saying that we hav2 watch what we do, and be tactful in what we say. Don't destroy the strong bonds we've taken so much pains to build with one wrong word.

Mr Seet wanted a year-end review meeting, i guess i've done it here. We need to work on this as a batch, we need to joke, we need to have fun, but at the same time, we need to be careful not to throw the hedgehog in uncle sam's pants...!!!

I'll do everything in my will 2 curb my bad habit of cracking jokes at the expense of others.

I'm doing my part. What about you?
